I object to the mosque to be built two blocks from "Ground Zero" (1) I want to be built at "Ground Zero"
Why? Because I think in an America that protects victims of hatred and prejudice. I believe in an America that says you have the right to worship his God any go and wherever you want to worship. And because I believe in an America that tells the world that we are a loving and generous people and if a group of murderers steals and uses religion as an excuse for killing 3000 souls, then I'm going to help reclaim their religion . And I want to put it in the place where it was stolen.
Much has been said this caused controversy. I do not want this day to commemorate not actually lose a little time talking about it. But I hate the bigotry and lies and if you have forgotten some lost truth, let me mention a few facts:
1: I like the Burlington coat factory. I bought some winter coats and a good price there. The Muslims have said their daily prayers there since 2009. Nobody complained about it. There will be a mosque, will be a community center. Remain the same classroom with current states. But to say that "there will be a mosque" seems so offensive I now want them to build there a mosque of 111 floors. That place is a sacred cemetery and re-build a commercial building it is a sacrilege. Why not transform it into a Memorial Park and Peace? People died there, and many of them have been scattered there all these years.
2: Guess who has helped organize the Muslim community center? The Jewish community center in Manhattan! Their rabbi has been advising all along. It is the perfect image of the kind of world we want to live. Peter Stuyvesant, the "founder" of New York tried to throw the first Jews who arrived in Manhattan. But then the Dutch said no, this is too much. Stuyvessant then said, may well stay but can not build a synagogue in Manhattan. Spend your stupid Friday night at home. The construction of new Jewish temple was first authorized in 1730. Then came a revolution, and the founding fathers said this is a secular nation - no religious state. George Washington wanted to make clear that (in his first day in office) and I wrote to American Jews:
"Citizens of the United States are entitled to feel proud to have given humans an example of comprehensive policies and liberal - political worthy of being imitated ... "is no longer

6. There is a McDonalds two blocks from Ground Zero. Believe me, Mc Donald's has killed more people than terrorists.
7. During the Great Depression or wartime, the fascists were highly trained to fear and hate and blame the working class "others" for their problems. Lincoln's enemies called him the poor Southern whites that he was a "Catholic" Opponents of Franklin D. Roosevelt said he was a Jew and called him "Jewsevelt." One in five Americans believes Obama is Muslim and 41% of Republicans do not believe that he was born in this country.
8. Blaming an entire group for the actions he has committed a member of the group is anti-American. Timothy Mac Veight was Catholic. Could Oklahoma City prohibit building a Catholic church near the site of the old public building that was hit Veight Mc?
9. Let me tell you, all religions have their irrational. Catholics have to O'Reilly, Gingrich, Hannity and Clarence Thomas (the five conservatives who dominate the Supreme Court are Catholics). Protestants have Pat Robertson and a long list more. Glenn Beck Mormons, Jews Crazy Eddie. But do not judge a religion by the actions of madmen. Although they are Methodists.
10. If I come to die in a terrorist incident, God forbid, and you or some groups hard use my death to justify the attack or discriminate someone in my name, I will return and I will haunt more than Linda Blair marrying Freddy Krueger.
