The site was created by journalists who participated in a workshop Digital Journalism Center at the University of Guadalajara. Its founders claim that the DNA of this project is the unbridled passion to seek and tell good stories, always under the umbrella of narrative journalism.

Why was Sole.com?
Sole is the result of the rebellion that characterizes us as journalists, the continuing concern of three journalists countries (and is called the inhabitants of Medellín) to tell other stories, very different from those that usually leave in traditional media. It is the dream of having an environment where readers can read good stories, stories that you always expect in half.
How would you describe the DNA of this project?
DNA is our passion and exuberance for search and tell good stories, always under the umbrella of journalism narrative, that is, stories are well told and demonstrate that curiosity that as journalists we have for the world and everything that happens around him. It's back to the base of journalism, which in recent years seems to have been lost.
What Sole.com dare? In
Sole vetoed no issue, so this will always be a place to talk about anything, as long as they generate interest in readers, which can be found anywhere in the world. Daily events also seem fundamental: how many times, as journalists, we are walking down the street and we find a character who is carrying a history that can reveal to anyone. All these issues fit in the magazine Sole.
What journalistic values \u200b\u200bpromoted and applied Sole.com?
There are some basic principles of good journalism to never give up: the rigor, depth, context and style to narrate. We believe they are essential elements in journalism but many tend to forget to go to the races. Therefore we prefer to forget the effort if we want to work an issue.
Sole.com Can cause appetite among readers accustomed to fast food and snacks from the Internet?
That is our challenge and we happily take. It has become almost a cliché that you hear say that nobody reads, but we are not very convinced of this false premise. When you find a story that catches your eye You'll always get a few extra minutes to read to the end. The challenge is to produce that interest readers. And so we bet very strongly, because there is always someone who wants to enjoy a good meal.
What role did the Center for Journalism in this project?
Journalism Center is like our father. And our mother is the Editorial Board, an organization of journalists that promotes investigative journalism in Colombia. Thanks to them and their workshops training project gave life and move from ideas to action. We'll be forever grateful to the Centre and James Breiner.
Who do Sole.com?
The team consists of two journalists from Medellín who live and dream of a journalist than the "pills information" that every day we offer the mainstream media. One anticipates a master's degree in Communications in Argentina. The other is an employee of a recognized means of Colombia. And I, I'm an anthropologist by profession but a professional journalist. Other than that, we have a network of partners in various cities who bring their talents to make this project go ahead, among they Alberto Salcedo Ramos, Roberto Valencia and Domenica Canchano, and all journalists who want to join us. How can young journalists Sole.com join?
All journalists who want to join are welcome to Sole, the important thing is to identify with our philosophy and want to tell a story that can cross borders. With those two requirements can be part of the team and have all our support. We will ensure that their stories reach as far as possible.
Sole.com What do you think of the diary, can the registration period to reflect the reality?
We can not say what the newspapers every day is bad journalism, but we have many qualms with journalism that is done only to meet and fill the blank page that should carry a warning that knocked at the last minute. With the journalism of the press releases and official statements. With that kind of work do not get along. But we recognize the work of many journalists who manage to get out of that effort straitjacket and make work that will endure. Even some of them are our partners.
How do you define independent journalism?
Independent journalism is a journalism free from restraints of any kind. Journalism not be intimidated from power but watch it carefully. He is not seeking favors or benefits of any kind, a period where we can speak freely on any subject without fear that you put a band, of course, following the principles of good journalism. But journalism as a project that is sustainable.
What about bloggers journalists?
I think blogs are a good opportunity to tell stories and to show that every journalist does work, how sad is that many do not give the value you deserve and end up doing anything and forgetting about it.
Where do you see in the next Sole.com 5 years?
I see and hope it is a well established project, not only in Colombia but in Latin America, and the possibility of being a print magazine, if the market permits. That would be a dream come true and we shall seek by all means.
What kind of stories will Sole.com?
All kinds of stories that any good reader, anywhere in the world, can enjoy all the way forward. So, with this definition, the issues become infinite.
